Market abuse has fractured the reputation of the financial markets and dented investor confidence. Global regulators have responded with billion dollar fines and regulatory initiatives such as MiFID I, MAR and Dodd-Frank. The market is now counting down to the next major initiative, which will be MiFID II in January 2018.
